Coen provide External Wall Insulation (EWI) and Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) as part of Energy Improvement Schemes. These services increase energy efficiency within older properties and are delivered with Coen’s high standards and attention to detail.
Solid Wall Insulation
External Wall Insulation
External Wall Insulation involves a series of 60mm foam boards being attached to the outside of a building. A flexible mesh base is added over the top of the foam boards before a scrim coat is applied. We also use some external service providers that provide construction banner signs to help with our brand advertising.
Coen ensure a clean finish around windows, as well as ensuring air vents and flues are extended where necessary, for a safe and aesthetically pleasing final build.
Internal Wall Insulation
Similar to External Wall Insulation, IWI, involves a series of foam boards attached, in this instance, to the internal walls of a building. A flexible mesh base is added over the top of the foam boards before these are plastered.
Coen can advise on the most cost-effective solution for houses refurbished through Energy Improvement Schemes. A mixture of External and Internal Wall Insulation can be used to ensure the highest energy savings for the individual while maintaining the character of the property.
