Leaps and Bounds

Leaps and Bounds is an organisation which backs Community Enterprise ideas to deliver sustainable community regeneration. Communities in Britain are alive with great ideas and vision, whether in education, sport, the arts or environmental projects. Sometimes though, it can be difficult to get ideas off the ground. As an individual or small organisation, funding can be difficult to find, time is short and administration requires a lot of skill and expertise.

Coen brings quality interiors to famous pub landmark

Coen is currently working with Bullock Construction and Optima Housing Association, to provide 30 new housing units at the well known Firebird site on Pershore Road in Birmingham. This represents our first project with Optima and we look forward to providing the trademark Coen quality. The homes achieve Level 3 Code for Sustainable Homes compliance and are provided with Solar Panels linked to fee-in tariffs.
The site – The development is being built on a brownfield site on the Benmore estate between Bristol Road and Pershore Road near a major gateway into Birmingham city centre. It was the location of the Firebird Pub, which had remained empty and derelict for a number of years. The site will be developed for affordable housing.

The scheme – A mix of two bedroom apartments, two, three, four and five bedroom family houses. The overall design aims to create a mixture of housing options for social rent, whilst maintaining an attractive outlook for existing residents in the area.
